Many, many pics - in no particular order

I have started using this blog as a "yearbook" of sorts, so I apologize for the multitude of pics that might seem  like unnecessary overload to anyone but me (and maybe my family)  I found a site that I can either download or print my blog as a book.  I plan to print each year and store them in binders as our family yearbook. So, bear with me through all the pics!  Here they come, in no particular order!

Mother's Day gift for Grammie.
The last day of school for the girls was on May 9th.  Korinne has now started to copy all of Karlee's poses. Also, had to stop for a little ice cream after the last day!
Karlee's last day of preschool was last Thursday.  She will miss seeing Ms. Mary and Ms. Corrine every Tuesday and Thursday.
First t-ball game of the season - The Nationals - Kohen has improved so much since last year.
Korinne and Karlee dancing with the high school cheerleaders at Kohen's family fun night at school.
I had to go in for a stress test due to an irregular heartbeat and an abnormal EKG.  I haven't really received a diagnosis, per say, but the cardiologist said he believes everything is okay and he gave me the green-light to continue activity as normal and gave me his blessing on the 1/2 marathon that I ran a couple weeks ago.  I go back on the 13th of June for a full stress test with echo but he said he is 99.9% sure we will not find a thing.
Because of my experience, Kohen was given a written order by the doctor to get an EKG as well.  His was completely normal, thank goodness!  He was pretty excited to get a Wonder Woman sticker at the end.  She is his favorite super hero, after all!
The series of pics above is just a testament to the weeks we have had recently. Everyone is beat up! Wait, I don't see Karlee in any of these "beat up" pics! I believe she is the culprit!  Well, I can't give her credit for Kohen's nose.  He woke up like that one morning.  He had no idea how it happened.  Korinne, on the other hand, was quite literally beat up by her sister!  She's going to be a tough little cookie!
Karlee saw this cloud and loved it.  She wanted to go sit on it and thought maybe the whole world could fit on it.  What I wouldn't give to have the simplicity and innocence of a 4-year-old again!
These two really do love each other - even if Karlee beats her up now and then!
Rainbow picnic day at preschool
The kids had a pizza party, picnic-style in the living room.
Our bird babies - they grew so fast!  The were very quickly running out of room in their nest and now they have all left us!  We just have an empty nest.  The kids really grew attached. Kohen was very concerned about them in the storm and they always went out to check on them.  The last pic is of Korinne climbing up the swing set to go check on the "teets" ... I'm guessing she means tweet and that must mean birds?!  Who knows!

She loves to climb on anything she can
Karlee loves riding her bike.  She will ride for hours!  I am hoping she gets brave enough to take the training wheels off soon!  She's not sure about that yet!
We had some pretty good sized hail on Saturday night.
Celebrating our anniversary - 7 years!
"Helping" me get ready
I just love this picture.  It just shows the extremes we have going on at all times.  Sleepy, peaceful Korinne and then Karlee in the background as dramatic as can be!  The drama clearly isn't phasing Korinne.
Finally, it is pool time!
Happy Mother's Day to me!

Lincoln National Guard 1/2 Marathon - 5/4/2014

My dad, my cousin Shelly, her husband Clint and I ran the 1/2 marathon in Lincoln over the weekend.  It was a great race with a great atmosphere.  People lined the street through the entire 13.1 mile course with signs cheering everyone on.  I've never heard so many strangers yell my name before (it was on my bib)! We lucked out with the weather.  It was a beautiful day to run!

The view from our hotel room
Race bib, shirt and pace bracelet.
Kohen was pretty excited because he got to swim while we were at the race expo.
This was Clint's drink of choice for the night before the race!
The "before" picture
Finish line on the 50 yard line of Memorial Stadium
The "after" picture. There were 12,500 runners that morning.  So, it was nearly impossible to find our other two for an official "after" picture.  I had a goal of 1:45 or under.  I didn't quite hit it.  I was cruising along on target to come in under 1:45 and the hill at the end of mile 8 set my pace back a bit for the remainder of the race.  I wasn't too far off at 1:46:35.  I was a little disappointed on race day but am fine with it now and will hit that goal next time!
Who ran the 1/2 marathon?! He was tired and cold!
Back at the hotel, ready to get cleaned up for Shari and Lynn's post-race festivities
Dad got fourth in his age group, coming in at 2:00:09.  Great job!!!

Spring pictures came home today.  The left is his fall picture and the right is his spring picture.
We have a mama bird and some eggs on our swing set.  Karlee had made a bird feeder at school the same week we found the nest.  She hung it up and checks daily to see if any of the birds have eaten her bagel.
These two love Minnie Mouse
Korinne got some new shoes from Ben.  She love shoes and loves to show them off!
Making rice krispy treats

Korinne has started calling herself "Rinnee".  Karlee will sometimes call her Rin Rin so I am guessing that is where it comes from.  Lately, when I ask her who is in the picture it is either 'baby" or what sounds like Rinnee.   In pictures were she is wearing bows or headbands she says "Rinnee, hat"
Karlee sang with her preschool friends for Small Saints Sunday.  She loved it and was very into the moves.  She has finally overcome the stage fright she had so badly last year!

Some of the babies hatched yesterday afternoon.  We haven't checked on them since the storm yesterday.  We went out once after this pic and the mama was sitting on them again.
Riding out the storm in the basement.  It didn't result to very much of a storm but Kohen thought it was best we head downstairs anyway.

Running around the parking lot, burning off some energy while Karlee was practicing gymnastics.
Silly girl - she loves her boots and her rain jacket.  She refused to take either off after school.

Karlee's Gymnastics Recital - Shoot for the Stars "Desire to Inspire"

Getting ready for the recital.  She was very excited to do her hair and extremely excited to wear makeup!
Before the show
Excitement soon turned into sleepiness while she waited for her group to go up. She was actually snoring so loudly that someone in front of us turned around to see what the noise was!
She did a great job!

The finale
All of the groups came up at the end and they took another bow and also got a ribbon.  She was pretty excited about that!
Her fan club
She was pretty excited she got a flower and a ribbon.  The flower came from her fan club.

Little Gymnast

Karlee's gymnastics pictures.  She has a recital on Sunday.  She is supposed to wear makeup for the rehearsal and the recital.  She was pretty excited about that.  She wondered if she would have to wear lipstick too.  I told her yes and she said, "oh, so I will look like a mom." I guess so!
