Update on Kohen & Pictures of His Progress

There is an update on Kohen's progress at the end of this post ... I wanted to post some pictures of him from the beginning until now (kind of a "stages of progress"). They are kind of backwards with the first ones being the most recent pics. I could probably post pictures all day because we have definitely taken a million but I will try to keep it brief and only add a few ... I just thought maybe you might be interested in seeing his progress.
He had to go back under the phototherapy light because he still had a touch of jaundice but he should be out of under the light by tomorrow. He has to wear a mask with goggles under it to protect his eyes while under the light. He has figured out how to take it off and has even at times been found using it as a pillow. Little does he know the rays of light will hurt his eyes so we had a talk with him and told him he has to stop pulling it off!!

He had come out of the oxygen tent at this point and was breathing with the nasal cannula.

Here, as you can see, he is still under the oxygen tent. He has different IV's going in through his belly button ... They look so much better going into the bellybutton rather than the ones they placed in his head but neither one seemed to bother him much.

The Children's Mercy team had come to our room at St. Luke's before they transferred him.

This picture was taken of him at St. Luke's under their version of the oxygen tent. The one below is right after he was born, as you can see he was 6 lbs. 4 oz.

Today they took Kohen's feeding tube out. He is now eating completely on his own. He had been breastfeeding since the beginning of this week but when I wasn't there they would feed him with the tube. He is now getting a bottle, which is good because he has to eat completely on his own before they will let him go home. They also took the IV's out of his head last night. Now the only cords he has left are the EKG and temperature monitors. Once they take the lights off tomorrow he should be completely free of all cords, probes, devices, etc. Hopefully he'll be coming home soon!
