| Mark and I headed to Cabo last Saturday with our friends, Beth and Brian. We left a snowy Kansas City - thank goodness we made it out! The selfie was for a couple friends asking for a pic/update before I left for the trip. I decided to add it in the collage to document the entire journey - ha! As you can tell from the pics, it took a lot of fluids (of many different varieties) to get to Cabo :) |

| Some of the many views in Cabo. |
Our resort, the Riu Santa Fe
| Shots, shots, shots, shots, shots ...... that was our theme for the first night. We took way too many that evening! We made some new friends on the plane and they spent the evening with us. |
| The 2nd night - dressed up for dinner. |

| Uh, sir - I think there is an iguana on your head! There were "salespeople" lined up everywhere along the beach. And they were relentless with their soliciting everything and anything. At one point, there was a lady on the beach blowing a whistle at me as I was lounging on the side of the infinity pool at the resort. I thought, lady even if I wanted your t-shirt, plate, bracelet, etc. do you think I am going to jump off the edge of this infinity pool to buy it?! They were seriously relentless. Anyway, long story short, there was a lady pimping iguanas at Lovers Beach. She basically just came and dumped the thing on Mark and after I took a few pictures she said, that will be 200 pesos. Mark's response, "We didn't sign a contract" (much better story if you were there!). Anyway, he ended up giving her $5 for the iguana pics and she came back at least 12 more times in the hour we were at Lovers Beach. She acted as if she had never seen any of us before, each and every time. |
| Mark's doppelganger, Woody Harrelson. I had never noticed the resemblance until my neighbor sent me this side by side pic. |
| Beth and I had left the pool one day to check into our flight. We ran into Brian on the way back and he said Mark was sitting at the pool watching our stuff. We get back and Mark is no where to be found. A few minutes later we look to our side and see that Mark is donning a wig and a cowboy hat and has made friends with the "wig" people we had been watching all day. They were actually a group we sat next to on our flight down. They had a theme each day. |
| Some of the sites on our boat ride over to Lovers Beach. The bottom left pic is a very large and smelly group of sea lions laying out on the rocks. |
| Lovers Beach. The side we spent most of our time on (just past the rocks) is referred to as Divorce Beach. |
| There were some huge crashing waves that day. They told us - whatever you do, do not get in the water on the Pacific side (Divorce Beach side), unless you want to die. |
| More pics of the sea lions |
| Back at the resort. The waves were huge. It sounded like loud thunder when they finally barreled onto the beach. |
| A view of Lovers Beach from our resort. |
| Night #3 - we ate at the Mexican restaurant that night. |

| Our last night - one last hoorah before heading back to reality |
| ..... and then we came back to this. Our room was slightly flooded. The air conditioning was leaking from the ceiling. Mark thought he could just leave the trash cans to catch the water. The dripping sound was not exactly my cup of tea to sleep to. Then, he had the idea of the towels to muffle the dripping sound. That worked for about 30 seconds. He wasn't about to call maintenance and have to change rooms. He finally decided to open up the ceiling and he placed a cup up in the ceiling catching the water. That worked well enough ... reported to the front desk in the morning and they did not really seem to care. Guess it was good it was our last night! |
| Getting ready to head home. It was fun! |
| Back to reality .... but before that, our flight out of Cabo was delayed and then we were delayed again in Denver. It was a VERY long travel day. What did we eat when we got to Denver? Mexican, of course! Ha! Just can't find good Mexican food when you are in Mexico! |
